Our History

Established in early 2012 and initially working across the UK and Scandinavia, the growth and success of Thor Companies® since inception has seen continued expansion across the USA and Ireland within Life Sciences. Our associates have extensive Search and Selection experience working in partnership with some of the world’s most established and successful businesses, as well as newly formed start-ups within the Life Sciences, Energy, Fintec and Infrastructure industries.

 
 
 

The foundations of our company have been built upon a unique blend of cultures, which combine proactiveness and productivity with the efficiency and diversity of our people. Strategic candidate acquisition and headhunting within niche skill-sets for either freelance or permanent staff is the lifeblood of the business. We believe that people are central to any business success and nowhere is this more apparent than internally here at Thor. Thor Companies® continues to experience sustainable growth across all areas of the USA and Ireland.
 

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We only focus on niche markets where demand is high, and supply is scarce. Keeping at the forefront of these vertical areas is imperative to add the most amount of value to our clients and candidates. Similarly, we only want to work with exciting, innovative and growing organizations and in doing so, select a limited number of clients within each industry. Over time this allows us to really understand the nuances of our clients and in turn leads to long-term, trusted partnerships.

We actively strive to understand local cultures, local laws and the specific disciplines in which we operate. This means that we can therefore be of astute mind to advise and give consultation in these areas.

We rarely advertise our roles, because quite simply, the best candidates tend not to apply via online routes. Instead, we proactively approach specific individuals and really get to know them. We track their careers and inform them of possibilities that meet their motivations as and when they become available. This increases our control over our network and database, ensuring it remains extremely strong and is not diluted by irrelevant profiles and applications.

ScandinaviaN HQ

Our main office in Scandinavia is based minutes from Stureplan in Stockholm, allowing us to be close to a lot of the decision makers across many of our sectors. Our team here are ideally placed to meet with both Candidates and Clients which is the cornerstone of Thor’s relationship building philosophy. They also work closely with our local offices in Norway, Denmark and the UK


Thor have partnered with us across multiple requisitions in the areas in which they specialise. For one position, we signed a separate exclusivity agreement, where we demonstrated financial commitment upfront.
